SCC offers a wide variety of outdoor adventures throughout the school year. These one credit outdoor adventures are designed to teach outdoor skills for all ages and abilities.  These class trips require a basic level of fitness.  There is a one-time orientation before each class trip.  In addition to the one credit tuition there is an additional travel/activity cost.  After completing a five day white water rafting trip in the Grand Canyon one student wrote, “. . . this trip fulfilled a life-long dream of mine; to experience the grandeur and solitude of the canyon with a focus on experiencing its geology, plants, and animals.  I especially appreciate being able to learn something of river ecology and Leave No Trace principles.”  Another student after returning from a sea kayaking trip to Baja Mexico wrote, “Thanks for helping a middle-aged woman like me begin to experience a new, fun world of leisure and recreation in the great outdoors.”
